The incision for a breast reduction essentially depends on the initial findings of the breast. The incision can be made in the form of an O-incision around the nipple in the case of a pure nipple lift. Whether an I-incision or T-incision is used depends on how much the nipples are lowered and how much glandular tissue needs to be removed as part of the breast reduction.

Breast lift and breast reduction in one procedure
Large breasts in particular often lose a lot of their elasticity over the years and – often due to pregnancy or breastfeeding – also lose their fullness. Sagging breasts can be tightened at the same time as a breast reduction. Excess skin is removed during the procedure to not only achieve a smaller and shapely breast, but also to tighten the breasts.
How does a breast reduction in Frankfurt work?
The preparation
Dr. Nauras Abuagela will respond to your wishes in detail. Before every treatment, we hold a personal consultation with you in our Frankfurt practice. We will discuss your individual needs and the available surgical methods and inform you about the exact procedure, the expected result and possible risks. Patients undergoing surgery should generally refrain from taking blood-thinning medication, nicotine or alcohol for around two weeks before the procedure. Patients must appear for the operation on an empty stomach.
The treatment
The procedure is performed under general anesthesia and usually takes between 3 and 4 hours. Excess skin, fat and glandular tissue are removed from the lower breast area. The remaining tissue is used to reshape the breast. The nipples are also moved slightly upwards to achieve a particularly aesthetic result. The nipples are normally sensitive even after the procedure, as the nerves and blood vessels there are not damaged or removed. Breastfeeding is also possible after breast reduction with appropriate adjustment of the nipples. The scars are barely visible after the operation.
n the high-quality silicone implants are inserted either via an access in the underbust crease, the armpit or the areola – depending on the anatomical conditions and the patient’s individual wishes. Depending on the findings, the implants are placed either under the breast muscle (submuscular) or above it (subglandular). Thanks to the gentle fast recovery technique, the procedure is particularly gentle on the tissue, which makes healing and returning to everyday life much easier.
The aftercare
The patient usually stays one night for inpatient observation. The day after the operation, the dressing is changed and the patient can usually go home. A compression bra should be worn for the first 6 weeks. Sport is not recommended during this time.
