What is a laser eyelid lift?

In laser eyelid lifting, we treat the fine eyelid skin with fractionated laser energy. Tiny microchannels stimulate repair processes and collagen formation; at the same time, the tissue contracts (“skin tightening”).

The method is particularly suitable for

Slight to moderate drooping eyelids (excess skin)
Fine wrinkles and “creased skin” on the lower eyelid
sun-damaged, thin skin around the eyes
subtle “fine tuning” after/without surgery

In the case of pronounced excess skin or significantly bulging fatty tissue (severe drooping eyelids or pronounced bags under the eyes), surgical blepharoplasty is often more appropriate. We will discuss this openly during the consultation.

Laser upper eyelid lift

For mild to moderate drooping eyelids, the fractionated laser tightens the fine upper eyelid skin, promotes the formation of new collagen and gently tightens the tissue. Advantage: no incisions, short recovery time (redness/swelling for approx. 6 days). We often recommend 1-2 sessions at intervals of 6-8 weeks. The result: a more alert look without changing the shape of your individual eyelid.

Laser lower eyelid lift

Fine wrinkles and diminishing skin quality on the lower eyelid respond very well to laser treatment. Microfine ablation and targeted heat smooth the skin structure without removing volume. The social downtime is usually 5-7 days (redness, swelling), the tightening develops over 6-12 weeks. Depending on the initial findings, 1-2 sessions are advisable.

Combination treatment

For crow’s feet or mixed findings, we often combine laser tightening with botulinum (reduces mimic wrinkles) or gentle peels/skin boosters for improved skin quality. These combinations enhance the tightening effect, accelerate the improvement in texture and deliver particularly natural results. The plan is individually tailored to your skin and your daily routine (downtime).

Surgical eyelid lift

Surgical blepharoplasty is often the more reliable option for pronounced excess skin or significant fat bulges (e.g. prominent bags under the eyes). Here, excess skin and – if necessary – fat are specifically removed or redistributed. The recovery time is longer (swelling/hematoma 1-2 weeks), but the result can usually be achieved in one session.

The treatment

Laser eyelid lifting is an outpatient and non-invasive procedure. The skin is stimulated selectively with fractionated energy – without incisions, usually using anesthetic cream and local infiltration if necessary. The laser creates micro-fine areas that stimulate the formation of new collagen and tighten the tissue. The treatment usually takes 30-45 minutes. This is immediately followed by cooling and soothing care. After a short recovery period, you can leave the practice.

The aftercare

Slight swelling, redness or fine bumps are normal and will subside after a few days. Cooling, a thin skin care barrier (e.g. panthenol) and sun protection (SPF 50+) support the healing process. Make-up is usually possible again after 5 days. Sauna, solarium and direct sunlight should be avoided for 4-6 weeks.

What are the risks of an eyelid lift with laser?

Side effects can occur with every laser eyelid lift, but these usually subside quickly. Redness, slight swelling, feelings of tension and fine crusts on the eyelid skin often occur in the first few days. Temporary pigment changes (lighter or darker) are possible and usually normalize within a few weeks.

Rare complications include infections, reactivation of herpes or surface irregularities; scarring is very rare. A feeling of dryness or irritation of the eye may also occur for a short time. With adequate care (cooling, SPF 50+) and the agreed check-up appointments, we create the basis for a safe, harmonious result.
