Botulinum toxin, better known under the brand name Botox®, is a proven neurotoxin that is used in aesthetic medicine to treat wrinkles. It specifically blocks the signal transmission between nerve and muscle, causing the treated muscles to relax. The treatment

The treatment is performed on an outpatient basis and usually takes about 15 minutes. Anesthesia is not necessary; we can apply an anesthetic cream on request. You can leave our practice immediately after the botulinum toxin injection and go about your normal daily routine.

The aftercare

At our Frankfurt practice, you are in experienced and safe hands, so you need not fear any complications. There may be temporary reddening of the skin, slight swelling and a burning sensation in the treated area. These symptoms usually subside quickly.

In the first few hours after treatment, we recommend that you avoid direct sunlight or using a sunbed. You should also wait a day before engaging in sporting activities. If you have any questions or are unsure, you can contact us at any time after the treatment.

You will be able to see the first results just a few minutes after the treatment. These then continue to improve over the following days. The maximum effect occurs after around 6 weeks and lasts for 4 to 9 months. It is then possible to undergo further treatment.
