Cosmetic surgery for men: an overview of the most popular treatments

beauty men

It is a misconception that only women are interested in plastic surgery to improve the way they feel about their bodies. Men also want to feel good in their skin. Find out now which are the most popular treatments among the “stronger sex”.

A few wrinkles, the first strands of gray in the hair – many say that men become more attractive with age and mature like a good wine. In fact, women are often attracted to more mature men and – unlike themselves – find the first gray hairs on them sexy. But what if a man’s age is just a little too obvious – and in the wrong places? What if the hair isn’t turning slightly gray but is falling out and the small wrinkles around the eyes aren’t the only ones?

Men’s self-confidence can also take a knock when signs of ageing become all too apparent. In order to maintain an attractive appearance, more and more men are opting for dermatological or plastic surgery treatment. The following treatments are particularly popular:

Hair transplantation: For youthfully full hair

Women can also be affected, but it usually affects men in particular: every second man complains of hair loss in the course of his life. Sometimes the hair falls out at the roots and causes a receding hairline, in other cases a tonsure forms. Diffuse hair loss, i.e. hair thinning in all areas equally, is also a painful experience for many men.

A hair transplant provides a remedy and completely fills in thinning or bald patches by removing and transplanting hair from the back of the head. Why is this so? Hair at the back of the head is not counted as head hair but as body hair, which means that it continues to grow even in old age and does not fall out again in the transplanted areas.

Three methods are available:

The FUE method (Follicular Unit Extraction) is a minimally invasive procedure in which hair is removed individually from the back of the head and then transplanted elsewhere. It does not require any visible scars and takes slightly longer than the FUT (Follicular Unit Transplantation) method, in which a strip of skin with hair is removed and the hair is then also transplanted individually.

It is also possible to use autologous blood therapy (PRP method) to preserve hair on the head – by injecting a special solution enriched with autologous blood into the scalp. Important: This does not bring back hair that was once lost, but it does strengthen existing hair.

Eyelid lift: An alert look – even in old age

The skin around our eyes is very thin and therefore sometimes looks wrinkled and tired even when we are young. In addition, bags under the eyes and drooping eyelids develop as we get older.

These can be treated with an eyelid lift. Once the eye area has been restored in this way, it generally does not change much afterwards and therefore promises long-lasting results. Men usually notice this particularly in everyday life. After all, an alert and fresh look makes you look attentive and attractive.

Skin tightening: Back to masculine facial contours

Modern procedures such as skin tightening with Renuvion® offer a minimally invasive solution to counteract sagging skin and define male contours.

Renuvion® is an innovative method that is characterized by its scar-saving and tissue-sparing application. A helium plasma jet is targeted under the skin through a tiny incision of just 3-4 mm. This creates precise tissue shrinkage, which leads to effective tightening.

Facelift and co: a wrinkle-free face

The ravages of time gnaw at us all. Our genes determine how quickly we develop wrinkles. Lifestyle also has an impact on our skin. Anyone who eats an unhealthy diet, such as smoking or eating a lot of fatty foods, is not only damaging their internal organs, but also their skin, the largest organ in the human body.

A facelift is popular with middle-aged and older men, as it offers the opportunity to make facial wrinkles virtually disappear. However, a facelift is not always the wish of discerning men, in many cases they opt for a minimally invasive treatment with Botox (botulinum toxin) or hyaluronic acid to fight the wrinkles on their face.

Gynecomastia: Reducing abnormally enlarged breasts to a normal size

Gynecomastia describes a pathological but benign enlargement of the male breast. It is distinguished from pseudogynecomastia, which is also benign, but is caused by obesity and solely by the increased formation of fatty tissue.

Gynecomastia is when the enlargement cannot be controlled despite a good diet and exercise, as the breasts are benign but abnormally enlarged. It often occurs during puberty and then subsides. However, some men suffer from it for a long time – and then seek the help of a specialist.

Excess fat in the breast area and glandular tissue are removed using our special scar-saving technique. The special feature of the DOCTOR NAURAS ABUAGELA practice is the additional shaping and definition of the chest muscles through vaser liposuction, resulting in a trained, defined chest muscle without visible scars. The procedure is performed on an outpatient basis. You can return home on the same day.

Liposuction: For more well-being

Liposuction for men? Yes, why not. Men also struggle with fat deposits that simply won’t go away despite exercise and diet. More and more men are putting their trust in the skills of a specialist. For example, when they dream of a six-pack but simply can’t get it due to stubborn fat reserves.

Vaser liposuction offers an opportunity to make this dream a reality. Many men, especially athletic men, undergo this type of treatment to give their already shapely body the finishing touch.

A tummy tuck is also possible with this procedure – men opt for this if they have lost a lot of weight and the skin cannot be removed in any other way.

Ears and chin: other popular cosmetic surgeries for men

Young, well-trained and yet dissatisfied. That also exists. Some things can’t be helped by diet or exercise. Protruding ears, for example, are a real burden for many. Some men have had to deal with teasing from a young age and are looking for help to finally put this time behind them. Pinning the ears is the only option here – with lasting success.

Another treatment that is mainly requested by men is chin correction. A masculine face with a prominent chin and an appealing profile is also very important for many in order to feel a healthy self-confidence.
