Do you dream of a larger bust, but are afraid of severe pain and a long recovery and downtime? Thanks to modern medicine and a particularly tissue-sparing surgical method, the fast recovery technique, this fear is unfounded.
Breast augmentation does not always have to be painful. Fast recovery means fewer side effects and faster healing. Read on to find out what this technique is all about and who it is suitable for.
What does fast recovery mean and how does it differ from other techniques?
Fast recovery or rapid recovery describes a surgical method that aims for a quick recovery. Modern devices and techniques allow the tissue to be spared during the procedure, which ultimately means a shorter healing process with less discomfort.
The rapid recovery technique is often used in orthopaedic surgery and is now also used in plastic and aesthetic surgery, particularly for breast augmentation in our practice. For a long time, these were considered to be very painful surgical procedures with lengthy aftercare, meaning that patients can particularly benefit from rapid recovery here.
During breast surgery, attention is paid to a scar-saving and tissue-sparing approach as part of the so-called “minimal scar technique“. This involves a maximum 3.5 centimeter incision in the underbust crease.
To reduce inflammatory pain and speed up the healing process, special instruments are used which lead to less irritation and bruising. The procedure is comparatively bloodless and the rib skin is spared.
Thanks to modern medicine, it is also possible to separate tissue and close blood vessels at the same time. This allows you to raise your arms again more quickly, for example.

Who is fast recovery technology suitable for?
In principle, the fast recovery technique is suitable for all women. The method is suitable for breast augmentations with or without lifting as well as those with small to large implants (approx. 600 cc). Rapid recovery is particularly popular with active women and young mothers who want to get back to their everyday lives (with children) as quickly as possible.
Advantages of fast recovery technology
The decisive advantages of the fast recovery method include less pain after the procedure and a shorter healing time. This technique also has the following advantages:
- Access is via a maximum 3.5 cm incision,
- in most cases no drainage is required,
- modern instruments with more precise working options are used,
- the tissue is significantly protected,
- the operation is very bloodless,
- the risk of complications such as capsular fibrosis is reduced by using the Keller Funnel and
- lifting the arms is possible again earlier.
When are you fit for everyday life again after a breast augmentation?
The fast recovery technique for breast augmentation has a significant impact on the recovery process. Patients are mobile again much more quickly and can often lift their arms on the day of the operation. Even walks are usually possible by then.
Of course, you should still take it easy and not overexert yourself. You can shower immediately after the procedure. Light activities and office work should be resumed after about a week.
You will soon be able to get back to everyday life with your child. You should make sure that you initially only lift your child from a squatting position and avoid rotational movements. It should be 6 weeks before you can lie on your side again.
When is sport possible again after the operation?
After breast augmentation using the fast recovery technique, our patients often feel so fit after a good week that they want to return to sport. Caution is advised here: even if you no longer feel any pain, your body needs time to recover from the procedure. Both the small scars and the tissue have to heal first.
You can start again after 2 weeks with small movements. Yoga is possible again after 6 weeks. However, you should wait 3 months before starting more strenuous activities such as tennis, horse riding or weight lifting.
Is the method also used for other cosmetic operations?
The fast recovery method is not only used for breast augmentation. Our patients can also benefit from this technique for other plastic and aesthetic procedures. These include breast lifts, breast reductions and tummy tucks. A particularly tissue-sparing and bloodless procedure is also possible for these operations.
How much does a treatment with the fast recovery technique cost?
The cost of treatment with the rapid recovery technique depends on the planned procedure and the desired result. If you are interested in breast augmentation or another rapid recovery procedure, please contact us and arrange an initial consultation at our Frankfurt practice.

Can the method be used with all implants?
The rapid recovery method can also be used for large implants. This is achieved with a 4 cm long incision. Thanks to the Keller funnel bag, even implant sizes of 600 cc can be inserted gently.
